I use a 320GB hdd for both, the only reason you may want to purchase the 120gb instead of the 250gb is that 250s are in very limited supply so you do have a better chance of being banned. (I have never heard of anyone being banned for a HDD mod, and I run one myself, but theres always the chance.)
