Should we merge? poll

many of you know X-E (xbox experts) we are planning on making a deal in which they will redirect there BST forums here, along with a few links, and another redirect for case modding if we put a sticky at the top of the repair section linking to their site. What do you guys think? Should we do it? Me and SR2K have worked through the details and now Im just asking you guys. Because I dont want to spring any changed the community is against.

That wasnt my understanding, I thought that XE was being given a Sticky in the repair section.

Sounds good. Now when I say my repair service consists of a full hybrid x-clamp fix, people will know exactly what I'm talking about. And if its just a sticky in the repair section, that'll be fine because they'll still come to us for the actual repair services, if they need them.

i think i have changed my mind. its pointless we advertise money we could be making for them? no i dont like it any more. i say we decide who of us (experts) decide who will be running the site and doing the mods and we all chip in to pay for a domain. i dont think its worth our time or taking customers from are repair guys like worldformula and cheifs for what?

The idea is that XE is the main forum for repair since they have the repair Guru's Humbolt and Wilhelm
MM is used for BST.
I'm sure both can be used but authors tend to stick to their website.
So you have links to eachother but same as first 2 sentences.

ehh im not to fond of the idea... look at acidmods only one guy ran it but also loook at sparkmods its a team i think for this to work we would need a team like sparkmods

well here it is. we put a sticky up of there forum in the repair section, they have a redirect for BST and modding, and for general talk and game chat. As you can tell Im very sketchy on the idea. So im asking you guys.

Well Ive been thinking, anyway, my vote changed to no.

I like the idea of having their BST redirect, but I'm just not sure it's worth it to lose all the repair topics and such. It seems like to me we would be shooting ourselves in the foot by loosing/sending people over there instead of building this site. Who proposed this idea? Did they approach us or vice versa?

I'm still on the fence about this idea. What I would like to see is for us to establish ourselves with a domain and an E commerce, it may be a slow ride for a while, but might be a better pay off in the long run. Things can happen when you partner with someone, relations can be strained and things can break down, sometimes there can be hard feelings. With all that said, I do see the advantages of partnering with them, it could bring lots of business. But then again, how do we know? There are so many variables to this whole thing, it's hard to say what would be best. Like I said before, I would like to see this place be built up by all the great members here instead of getting tangled up with some other kind of deal. Ultimately though, it's your decision 250, and a tough one indeed. I like this place so much better than Llamma and would do anything in my power, including monetarily, to help out around here and see this place become a great E commerce and forum for the modding/repair community.

You can always monitor how many people register within a week or two then do a trial of the merge and monitor how many people register in another 1-2 weeks.
Then compare the results.

I can't change my vote, but I'm feeling that same way here. I have almost all my posts in the diagnosis section at llamma.

Ok, well I finally got the chance to sit a read through the chat. It sounds to me like they wanna redirect the repairs to them, since they are experts at a X-Clamp fix. In return redirect BST and Modding to us.

Now, on paper that sounds great. We get 2 they get 1. As a case modder, that sounds great. BUT, at least half of our unofficial staff (as I like to call them) are repair people, with equipment and experience. I also respect these people for the service they offer. So, I am against this idea. Soley on the fact that I'd hate to see people lose buiness. I did choose yes originally, but now that I know what they really want I've changed my mind.


Personally, I would get the domain and maybe some webspace(dunno what the current setup is). From there build a main page, with tutorials, guides, etc... Which would help our credibility and get some traffic flow. When we get some non-Llamma people (lol, thats all we have) then we can work on offering services/selling products. Bulk orders of ROLs, rapid fire chips, etc..

A deep user base is what makes a site. I'm a member of a forum that closed down for a year, and when they reopened it (without notification) most of the main users returned without anyone telling anyone. I was actually the first to refind the site within 3 hours of reopening haha. (kinda sad)

It was worth thinking about it but on our forums the voting looks similar like on here, had a couple of members chat me on MSN about it as well and most seem to be not too happy with it.
Was a good chance I think but peoples fears on here as well as on XE are very understandable so the best will be to keep it the way it is.

I still got monstermods.org if you want it I will transfer it to you otherwise just park it and let it expire.
If you need help setting a server up with proper DNS and so on one day or need help programming new features let me know I would be happy to help you out.

I wish you the best luck for your site, as said it got a lot of potential, use it!

ok so i found this place in 2006 and i think that it would be the best way for mm look at the b/s/t i think its the smoothest forms i have been on
