PostSubject: Dual Color LEDs and a Switching Circuit   Wed Oct 07, 2009 11:57 am

http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php?ta ... ct_id=1975

I was looking for some Blue 3mm LEDs and I saw a site that had some Blue/Green LEDs and it sparked my interest. They have 3 pins so I'm guessing the middle is the anode and depend on which side you use will determine the color of the LED. Would it be possible for me to create a simple circuit that would switch the voltage from one side to another to give it a switching effect?

I'm pretty new to electronics but I know a tiny bit and I bought a book called "Getting Started in Electronics" so hopefully I will be able to get pretty good at stuff like this.

Ok I'm trying to decipher the diagram and I'm a little bit confused. Are the blue points where it connects to the LED and the one nearest the bottom for the center anode?

Ok cool. Do you know the time between switching? I'm guessing adjusting the resistors and capacitors I would be able to adjust the time right?

Well, for one, 95% of the members are members of both. Also, a few have links to MxM on Llamma so people just tend to double post.

I think that from now on, if you have a solution to someone's problem that has been posted on both sites you should choose only one place to answer. I'm not saying don't post on Llamma, but remember that this place has a tiny user base and we would like it to grow. Wink
