Request: lighted ABXY buttons

I tried to post this on llamma, but I got yelled at
I would like somebody to put LEDs in my ABXY buttons. I will ship them to you, then you can do your thing and ship them back. They have to work in a wireless controller with both rechargeable and AA batteries, and I would be very happy if whoever does it can tell me where to solder the wires.

Well your going to have a bit of an issue there. The rechargeable pack gives 2.4v while the AA pack gives 3v. Basically you would need to resist it for the 3v and it would be dim on the 2.4v.

Thanks for the reply. I had trouble finding white LEDs that would even work on 3V. What LEDs are you thinking of?
Also, using a resistor is no problem for me, I am not new to wiring, soldering, etc. It's just the installation of the LEDs in the buttons that I can't do.
Edit: I think I know what you mean now. I was talking about using the 2.5-3V from the chatpad port. I found bicolor white/red LEDs with a forward voltage of 2.5 that would work from the chatpad port. Are you interested in doing this?

Well, ive done one of these before but I'm about to begin moving around so I'm trying to tie up all the lose ends. Come august if you still dont have anyone send me an email and I can do it.

I've got someone at xbox-scene who can do them for $8 each, unless somebody has a better offer then I'll get it done there...

Could you just buy one of the prelit clear controller cases then swap the buttons. I don't really know the price of this though.

That would work, except that I painted my controller so I don't want a new shell.

That sucks but if you don't find anyone you could always just buy a shell and then sell the painted shell or swap on an extra controller? Hell, I don't know I'm high and ramblin.

Well right now I'm on island so I still can't do it. How about you get a xcm case, take the lighted buttons and I'll buy the shell from you for $15.

That would be good, but the LEDs are on a custom PCB that only fits their case. They have custom buttons to work with it. Thanks for the reply though

Hmm I'm fairly sure with some dremmeling and gluing you could get the pcb to work and by custom button I don't really know what your talking about.

I mean that they make the buttons for the shells. I'm not sure exactly how different they are from stock, but they must be to have the light come through without shadows from the plastic in the button
Anyways, I think I'll try it again, and if mess up again then I'll look into that.
