This is just a teaser for a project I'm working on. To give you an idea on size, its 3.5cm tall, 29cm wide & 25cm deep. That model is to scale, and that will house a built in wi-fi adapter, internal 250GB hard drive, 4 front usb ports & (hopefully) cool better than a stock box without watercooling. I've got most of my figuring done, I just need to sell some of my current projects to fund it. I'm sure I'll run in to a couple snags along the way, but I'm going to build the first FULLY FUNCTIONAL Xbox360 Slim. At least I think it's the first with a dvd drive.

That looks pretty sick! How will the DVD drive work, does the top open up instead of ejecting?

As of current plans, the top would open up, hinged at the back, and have a "snap on" type spindle like you would find on a portable cd player or ps1. But depending on how things go I'm considering trying to get it so it slides off to the side. Like it would have a pivot point on the side of the clear plexi disc cover & it would swing of to the side. I'll play with that when I get there. It's a relatively small detail compared to the rest of the project.

what are thinking for cooling and heatsinks?

I'm going to run a couple tests, but I'm planning on using a 1st gen gpu heatsink on the gpu, and a trimmed down 1st gen gpu heat sink on the cpu with a 70mm x 10mm fan mounted directly on top of each one. My reasoning here is that the 1st gen GPU heatsink did an ok job cooling, so it should be better than that with the fan mounted directly on it, and the cpu usually runs cooler than the gpu, so a trimmed down gpu heatsink should work. Otherwise I'm considering iceberq4 pro heatsink/fans. (THESE) They get great reviews & I've seen them used with some apparent success in an original xbox.

I'm up for ideas tho! I need to keep the cooling system under 25mm.

Any thoughts on those different options for cooling it? Do you think the trimmed gpu heatsink should do the job on the cpu? Eventually I'll get a temp sensor & try different things, but I'd like to avoid buying a bunch of parts just to find out they wont work, as I am on a pretty tight budget.
